From May 18-20, 2023 the Florida African American Heritage Preservation Network (FAAHPN) will host the 20th of May Emancipation in Florida Conference in Tallahassee, Florida. The purpose is to increase awareness and significance of the Proclamation signing, enforcement reading as a war document and traditional commemorations in Florida, and to share other current statewide initiatives that impact the preservation and conservation of historical events and information of global relevance.
