New Smyrna Beach is home of the Mary S Harrell Black Heritage Festival/Museum. It is located at 314 N. Duss Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL. The Black Heritage Festival is an annual event first organized in 1991. This three- day outdoor festival takes place at Pettis Park directly across the street from the Museum. Activities include an Education Day for elementary students, Living history exhibits, demonstrations, historical tools, food, storytelling as well as life stories told by seniors from the New Smyrna Beach community.
