Come sample some culinary and literary delights hailing from Harlem and New Orleans, from the Caribbean and back again. This evening event at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center will showcase the cooking talents of Kevin Belton—celebrity chef of New Orleans, Melba Wilson—soul food superstar in Harlem, Taymer Mason—a Caribbean sensation, and Jerrelle Guy—an award winning food photographer and baker extraordinaire.
The culinary experience will be paired with cocktails courtesy of Victor George (first African American vodka distributor) and Barefoot wines.
This immersive dining and educational culinary experience is being brought to you with the assistance of Chef Kane and the culinary students of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Attendees will sample literary-inspired selections from each author’s cookbook as well as meet each chef first hand. The $40 covers the food, cocktails, live entertainment and a complimentary book of your choice.
