Support the Florida African American Heritage Preservation Network (FAAHPN)
A model program, FAAHPN has been acclaimed a first successful Museum network of its kind. Since 1996, the organization, starting with seven museums, is now a professional association of thirty (30) participating member museums. In her publication “Partnership Power- Essential Museum Strategies for Today’s Networked World” Marsha Semmel said: “In some ways, the Florida network was ahead of its time , in its recognizing the power of a network to benefit all of its members and in taking on the ambitious work of organizing diverse entities with common interests to gain “visibility, recognition. and, as Barnes says, to practice the maxim that ” a rising tide lifts all boats”.
This organization, comprised of small to medium sized museums operating in African American historic properties, with mostly volunteer retirees and student interns as staff, rely on individual, corporate and institution donations, legacy gifts and endowment contributors. It also seeks competitive grants to help keep the doors open and tourist and visitor ready. This LLC tax- exempt non- profit association appreciates every donation. Thank you in advance for helping to preserve this history for present and future generations.
